Prototyping And Wireframing

Prototyping is nothing but an early sample, model representation of a project before starting a project. A prototype is generally used to evaluate a new design to enhance by system analysts and users. Prototypes serve to provide a real working system rather than a theoretical one. Prototyping is the step between the initial attempt and development of an idea.

Prototyping is a kind of explaining something needed. It is used to reduce the risk that a design may not perform as needed. It is an attempt to explain the decision-making process. However, the prototype generally cannot eliminate all the risk but can eliminate at least some of the risks. This is useful for the requirement designing before moving forward with the production design.

A wireframing also known as a page creation or screen blueprint, is a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework of a website. The purpose is usually being informed by a business objective and a creative idea. The wireframes actually don’t have typographic style, color, graphics, whereas we can do all of these in prototyping with different styles and more creative. since the main focus lies in functionality, behavior, priority of content. These all are defects in wireframing where we can show all these in prototyping very lively.

Wireframes focus on:

  • The range of functions available
  • The relative priorities of the information and functions
  • The rules for displaying certain kinds of information
  • The effect of different scenarios on the display

This may give a brief outlook on prototyping and wireframing.
