GAP ANALYSIS

Synopsis:-Here in this document Gap analysis mainly explained in the project scope and environment.

In plain language gap analysis is something what we can drive to fill or achieve or improve the states from the current state to future state, which is like AS-IS state to TO-BE state which is like analyzing the project need analysis to achieve the desired goals of the project.

Basically it is the former step to analyze project own capabilities and capacities to fill the gap to reach the desired state. In this one should set up initial targets by looking out the company vision and mission statement or project scope by utilizing the maximum resources what we are currently possess and at what extent these resources are allocated in the processes.

Mainly in the gap analysis we will explore the risks and problems in our current system by analyzing

• Problems in the current process
• Cause of these problems
• Risks involved in changing the process
• Cons involved in not changing the current state.
• Identifying the right possible solution to bridge the gap

All the above identifications are analyzed to meet the business requirements which are like finding the gap, measure the gap and fill the gap by the following stages.

Current stage: – This is the actual stage where our project stands out, from here the qualitative and quantitative measure of the projects can analyzed in terms of business requirements .Here in this stage module analysis of the projects is very important because this is the time where we can showcase project goals and its pitfalls .Spending considerable amount of time is very important here to dig and dig out the project gaps.

Describing the Gap:- Identifying the gap is not the achievable the stage ,identifying the nature of  the gap is  also important here by the describing the nature and impact of the gap which can achieved by questioning whether the gap is really to be filled ,will it effects the desired output if not filled and is the gap is documented or can backup for other process. So gap description also involves the main part of gap analysis.

Filling the Gap: – This stage is like point to point analyzing the gap by brainstorming all the possible solutions to fill and also by allocation of resources like time, money, man power, machine, material, methods and metrics to utilize the right amount in right time to fill the gap and overcome the complexities in filling the gap without much altering the goal of the project to achieve by setting the priorities.

Future state: – This is the project expectation stage where business requirements are really achievable or setting up to achieve here we are enhancing the current process to the desired stage by adding, deleting or modifying the process for the better achievements .Are the achievable state is long term or short term and here we can measure the differences from as-is and to-be stages. Mainly in this stage the focus of all the stakeholders are necessary in finalizing the future stage with all identified gaps and required action plans to achieve the achieve the future stage
